Keef first got into electronic music at the tender age of 13. “I first heard a Fantazia rave tape from about 1992 and was immediately hooked. I used to spend my dinner money buying rave tapes from the big lads at school.” Poor quality tapes however just weren’t enough for Keef and he bought his first set of decks at 15. “They were the worst set of decks I had ever used, but the fact they were so poor really helped me out technically.”
After a few years perfecting the art of mixing doing house parties, him coming first in a DJ competition gave him his first break as a proper DJ. “The prize for winning the DJ competition was a Monday night slot at a local bar in the town. “ This really set me off on my journey as a DJ.”
He eventually moved to Spain to pursue his passion for music. He had moved on from Hardcore and moved into playing Tech and Progressive House and thought a change of scenery may help him. “Moving to Spain was the best thing I ever did as far as being DJ was concerned. I landed at the airport with nothing but a bag of clothes and my CD cases”.
